A Few Things This Week

1) Early this week I had called my Mother about a few things and seeing how she was, when Christian walked up. I think he was asking about Daddy (what a shocker), and I asked him if he wanted to say hi to Grandma. I put the phone up to his ear and he actually talked to Gma Lynne on the phone! I was shocked! Not only that Gma said, "I love you," and Christian said, "I love you too." I could not tell you how proud I was, I was almost speechless. He has until that day just let the person on the phone just talk to him without saying a word. I love my Christian!
2) My best friend since before long term memory kicked in, Toni, came into town this past week for her brother's graduation. We haven't seen each other for a while and so we hung out at the playplace in the Superstition Mall. Boy that place was packed. If it wasn't so hot outside we'd have gone to a park but oh well. Anyway, I think someone thought it'd be cool to have a unofficial birthday party for their kid and that brought in a lot of kids. During this little hanging out time with Toni, I look over my shoulder and Christian is holding his hand out to a girl about the same size as he was. She took his hand and led him through the crowded maze of children and climbable obstacles to her mother. As soon as the little girl was "introducing" her new friend or love, Christian bolts to where they had come. It was hilarious! Apparently he wasn't interested in a serious relationship. And at this point I don't think I mind too much. LOL
3)Wednesday I went to my friend, Candee's, house and a neighbor was working on her yard. He asked me, "How you doing?" I said, " I'm a bit tired." Then he said, "With two little ones and one on the way, I'm not surprised." *Sigh* I said nicely, "I'm not pregnant. I'm just fat." Poor man.
This evening I went grocery shopping at Safeway and I'm collecting a lot of yummy fruit: nectarines, peaches, apricots, blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries. This old lady started talking to me about fruit, then her health problems and then she asked, "When are you due?" *Sigh* I said nicely, "I'm not pregnant, it's from my two kids." After that I tried to make a hasty exit. Not only that a friend is unexpectedly pregnant and wishes me to be the same. And for her sake I wish I was, however, I am not pregnant and I don't plan to be until Christian is in school and/or I loose all the weight I gained from BOTH kids.
It's been a fun week.

It's so exciting when the kids finally figure out that the phone is used to talk to people! I remember when Mark first started to do it, he would walk around the house and point to things and talk about them ... as if the people on the other end could see what he was seeing!

So sorry about the insensitive people who assumed you were pregnant. I wish people would get it through their heads not to make assumptions about people they don't even know. Next time, make them feel even worse by telling them you have cancer and a tumor in your abdomen.
