Mormon Bishop Killed

There are certain things I'd like to believe about churches.
1) That they can't be defiled.
2) That they keep people from getting hurt.
3) That they bring happiness to those who visit.
Sadly this article goes against all that and my heart goes out to the family, ward, and stake.
Please read.

Candy-flies!

Candy-flies, candy-lady, and candy-frog!!!
Yes, Llama- FROGS!!!

I made some with purple lining, pink ins, and yellow outs. (Below)

Now I wanted to make pink lining with purple and yellow ins and outs but the baggie I was decorating with for the dark mint chocolate started to melt. Which is also why the yellow butterflies don't look as pretty as the others. :( That and I forgot. :D

So I made one pink and yellow vanilla and dark mint chocolate frog. One all dark mint chocolate frog and one all dark mint chocolate ladybug. Actually I made a yellow and pink ladybug earlier but I didn't take a picture...my bad. LOL
And I'm still not done getting ready for Kelli's baby shower! Hee hee hee- I'm having too mauch fun!

Nayeli Potty Training?

Nayeli has gone potty in our little potty 2 times- last night and tonight.
When she said she wanted on the potty all I expected was her to just sit there and get up and then get into the tub. But surprise, surprise she went #1 in the potty. Last night I was practically screaming with glee and giving her high fives. Tonight I didn't but my mind was a little preoccupied. Either way I'm so freakin' happy she knew to go #1 by herself. Go Nayeli!!!

Assessment

This past Thursday we went in for Nayeli's 2 year well check. Nayeli is doing great. She is 85th percentile in height- taller than the average girl, and aparently in better developement than Christian.
When the doctor came in he asked me how Christian was doing and I said he's good. The doctor asked Christian if he could get a high five and Christian shrunk away. The doctor didn't like that and asked if he has been in preschool or anything similar. I said no, that we wanted to potty train him beforehand. The doctor said no, it needs to be the other way around. He needs to get assessed for his developement- social, speech/language- getting him in may also help with potty training, since going#2 has been a problem for Christian.
On the outside I've been totally supporting this idea. Inside- I'll just say it- I'm freaking out! I'm scared of Christian growing up. I'm scared to call those people and find out that Christian does need that help. Christian is smart, I've said that many times, but for him to NEED to be in school to be taught even to poop in the toilet- makes me feel I've failed him. And I'll be honest, I have. I'm not the kind of teacher little ones can be taught by, I know that, I can give advice to older kids no problem.
I'm flat out scared. Which is why I hadn't called months ago when I should have. I still haven't...
Anyway, it's an update of this past week.

Cupcakes & Butterflies

"But I love netting butterflies!"
Ahem. Sorry, just quoting what I've heard Lindsey quote. That sounds wierd.
ANYWAY!!!!
I got these cute cupcake cups at Hobby Lobby. I'll be putting yellow frosting on the cupcakes-fyi.

With this candy I made....

Butterflies!!! Er...Candyflies!!! I would put these on the middle of the yellow frosted cupcakes as if they were visiting the flower itself.

The wings are made of finger-molded Starburst (I washed my hands before), the body is the SourNeon Worms, and the M&M's aren't important but they added "designs" or color to the wings.

Do you Like, Dislike the idea? If we do go with this idea I'll be using little powdered sugar to mold the wings otherwise it was very sticky, other than that this took me about 5 mins to make.

Now if you don't like the idea- I saw this tray mold of butterflies that I can pour Chocolate, Vanilla, Chocolate Mint, or Vanilla Mint into. It would take longer but I could do them early in the week and have them ready to place.

Both are easy. I just need finalization.

SAVERS

I heard from a friend of mine that SAVERS can have some good stuff.
This morning I went shopping at the SAVERS on Power behind IHOP. 20 items for roughly $70. Not bad I say. I got 1 pair of pants, 2 capris. Christian got 4 shirts (including a bright greene shirt to wear at the playplace in malls) , 2 pair of pants, 2 pair of shorts. Nayeli got 3 pairs of shorts, 4 shirts, and 2 dresses.
Heck Yes! This will not be the last time I'll be going. I recommend this to you!!!!!

Let's Go...Work Out?

This is the outfit I put Ellie in this morning. For the life of me I'd swear she looks like she's going to work out in a gym or just go running. What do you think?

Trains and Tracks

If I recall Chris and Christian made this track. There's a tunnel and a bridge!!!

For Kelli and Evey!

Well I would email this but the things I need to say won't do well in an email. So Kelli, you're in the spotlight! Hee hee hee!
These are ideas I have for your baby shower "cake".
For Cupcakes:

I can make cupcakes with frosting. For the flowers I can use a gumdrop for the center and licorice or something like that for the petals. If you wanted butterflies I'm sure I can think of something.
The flowers and butterflies can be different colored frostings.

For Cakes:
All frosting. Or Maybe I can find M&M's in pastel colors.
I can do the same thing in a big flower or butterfly.
I can make a cake like this, all frosting. Or frosting and candy. Or (I don't know if it's possible) maybe I can make a brownie cake.
We can do a bundt cake or two if you'd like fill the hole(s) with fruit.
Same as above.

Little cake flowers.
These are mini flower basket cakes that I could decorate.

I think I could do the same thing with this as the butterfly cake.
I could also make a round cake with a bunch of little cupcakes to make a large flower. I may have a couple more ideas but it's late at the point I'm typing this so if nothing appeals to you or you have an idea of what you'd like most that I haven't mentioned, tell me.
WARNING: I haven't been to Hobby Lobby or Michaels in a while so I may not be able to find some of the pans. However, if you like a certain idea most do tell me.
And Kelli, do know that I will pester you if you tell me, "Whatever you want to do will be fine." I want this to be YOUR baby shower not mine or anyone else.

New Developements

Christian has been doing REALLY good with potty training. At least the potty part. Going #2 in the potty has been difficult for him so it seems he only goes #2 when we put a PULL-UP on him- which is during the night and during "nap" time. I'm trying to get the idea of him not going to nap time, but when I want a break from the kids it's so tempting to put him to bed.
Yesterday we finally put Christian's toddler bed into Nayeli's room. As far as I can tell she's doing okay with it, but we'll see.
Nayeli has also been pushing a lot of my impatient buttons this week. Enough so that I put her to bed without lunch at naptime. She has learned where the permanent markers are. She has written in the notebook that I'm writing my story in, twice (not a good day). She has discovered that whatever we don't want her to play with we set on the island counter. And her favorite word is "no", big surprise.
However, Ellie has begun to call me Momma and seeming to learn more words. :)

Pix I'd Like To Share

Some of these pix were from a while ago. I'm slackin', I know.
I don't know why but I like him in a goatee.
Woke up from a nap and in a good mood.

Watching a movie- this was when Dev and Liz were enjoying alone time after Dev got home.
Before I buzzed his hair off. LOL I love it!

Sunday Quote

Today at Church we were talking about being examples to others. One older lady said (and this is as close to what she said as I can remember, but do know she said it better than what I've typed)-
"Three years ago I asked my granddaughter, 'What makes you so pretty?' My granddaughter said, 'My blonde hair and blue eyes.' And I tell her, 'Nope, it's your heart. If you have a pretty heart, you are beautiful. If you don't have a pretty heart, only the outside looks pretty.' And now three years later she tells me, 'Grandma, we have pretty hearts!'"
