2 & 3 Month Update!

Tehya is now 3 months old!!! Time flies, I tell ya! My Momma was right, the more kids you have the faster time goes.
Tehya has been able to go from just laying down and barely lifting her head to lifting her head really well to rolling front to back on her own all before her 3 month old mark. At her 2 month appointment she was 11 lbs even (55%) and 22.9 inches long (71%). She went from 39% in weight and 52% in height. She a-growin' girl!
Her personality is starting to show- she likes to see family, not really sure she smiles for people she doesn't know so she may be shy. She likes to watch TV or at least see the lights and shapes. She's a pretty happy baby when you get down to it. Only demands comfort, food, a change in diaper now and then, and the ability to sit up to see now and then, and she's happy!
Pictures from after 1 month but before 2 months old.

^^Happy Valentine's Day!^^

 That cute sleeping smile!
 Christian reading to her.
Daddy sleeping with all the little girls.
 Smiling while awake!
Love those cute feet! Mommy's and Daddy's wedding rings.
 A kiss from big sister!
Rolling over on April Fool's Day! Literally! No joke! I even put her hands to her side to be sure!

Just rolling!

She kinda likes it but not for too long.
I love this little smiley girl!

David Letterman - Anna Kendrick's Song and Cup Trick

This video has actress, Anna Kendrick, performing Cups, not just cups the game but sings a song while doing it, on David Letterman. She does this in the movie Pitch Perfect. Now, I'm not asking you to watch the movie but I did want to give Anna kudos and show you this video. If the video isn't showing go here: http://youtu.be/o_9i9Q7KIrU

Pix & Updates!

Tehya is ONE MONTH OLD! I can't believe it's already a month...and a couple days. Having three kids, so far, isn't that difficult. But then I haven't really had to take care of all three kids by myself. Sometimes Christian and Ellie take care of themselves and it's nice that I don't have to deal with that.
Tehya is definitely a joy to have, we all enjoy her! She is small but I know she's growing quickly and will be walking soon enough.
Tehya has been both breast fed and bottle fed, though last week I decided that I would stop breastfeeding altogether because I was getting frustrated and was really tired. Both of those things don't go over so well for anyone around me when I'm cranky. Anyway, the other day I pretty much fed her via bottle all day and she seemed to have gas problems, all day yesterday I switched bottles to see if that'd help. We had a lot of poopy accidents, like explosive diapers (EEW!) but she fell asleep easier. Plus we got to sleep for about 5 and a half to 6 hours last night so we'll see how that goes. She is already eating 4-6 ounces! She's a growin'! At her 2 week check-up she was 8lbs 3oz- same size Nayeli was when she was born.
Personality- I think she is just as expressive as Christian and Ellie. The way she moves her lips, eyebrows- that sort of thing. She's very sweet, and so much fun to snuggle! I love giving her kisses and when she looks for food around my face, I think it's her way of giving kisses back.

Daddy nappin' with Tehya

Whoa! or Oooo! LOL either way I think this pic is hilarious!

Growin' like a sunflower.

 On da tummy falling asleep.

Sooooo....who is who? Guess which one is Christian, Nayeli, and Tehya!

Christian had the severe cowlick from the beginning, Nayeli was pretty bald on top, and Tehya definitely has had the most hair out of the 3.

Tehya Is Born!!

...And I'd have pictures if it would let me load them. However, I have changed some pictures so you can look at her that way.
Anyway, she was born January 4th, Chrispy's birthday, at 12:48am. She was 7 pounds 15 ounces, and 20 inches long. Ironically, she is my smallest baby so far. Christian weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces, Nayeli was 8 pounds 3 ounces. Tehya was about a week and a few days early, totally surprising me and Chrispy but Chrispy was happy to have her on his birthday. No doubt will she be a daddy's girl with the bond they've shared since he dreamt of her being a girl.
As for details of the moments leading up to and of the birth, I'll have to make it short since Tehya could wake any moment and I'll have to feed her.

Thursday, January 3rd, I woke up early to get ready and get the kids ready to go to my brother-in-law's house for the day to play. He took them around 9am and I was able to get to my doctor's appointment without a problem. Leading up to the appointment at 10:30am I hadn't had too many contractions so I wasn't expecting too much, maybe a dialation to 5cm...and I was! I told her about the fun I've had throwing up lately and she was surprised the bag of waters was still intact. She even checked to see if I was leaking and of course I wasn't. She told me I must have a bag of steel and we had a laugh about that. She wanted me to get checked in to the hospital to see how strong the contractions were and how often. I just told her I wasn't feeling many, so she just advised that if I feel them a certain length apart to go to the hospital.
She must have started something cuz on my way to pick up some baby stuff from my sister I had a few contractions. But they weren't screaming to me- go to the hospital. Before I left, my sister told her son to hug me tightly to squeeze the baby out. That might have helped too. After that I went shopping, not even in a hurry but the contractions came often enough to encourage me to time them. They ran from 15 mins, 10 mins and even 7 mins a few times. I went to Walmart then Best Buy, where I got a nice shawl that I thought would be good for nursing and Lego Lord of the Rings for Chrispy's birthday. Before I went to Best Buy I had called my brother-in-law to tell him I'd be over to grab the kids from his house. While at the store the contractions got a little rough to breathe through so I debated picking the kids up (have them stay the night) but I mentally didn't think I was contracting regularly to go to the hospital so I dropped everything I bought at the house and went to get the kids, warning my mother that she may want to ready herself cuz I may ask her to stay with me till Chris got home. I'd say this was at around 4:30pm?
On the way to get the kids I still kept track of every contraction I felt, they ran from 10 mins, 5 mins, and even 3 mins a couple times, putting me on edge. When I got my kids I visited with my other sister and brother-in-law, the contractions spaced themselves again, probably cuz I was more relaxed with family around. When I left with the kids, the contractions picked up again. I texted my mother when we got home, she wanted to be there just in case, and I can't deny that I wanted her there too.
My mother showed up soon after, at around 6pm, and the contractions still hadn't stopped their 3-10 minute squeezes. It didn't take long for me to be convinced we should go, so I called Chrispy's mother and asked her to watch the kids while my mother took me to the hospital. While we waited for her I cooked up a pizza for the kids so Gma Runkel wouldn't have to worry about that. When she got there the kids were thrilled to have both grandma's at the same time, but my mom and I got ready to go and I called Chrispy to tell him of what was going on around 7pm. Ironically, Chris told me he was on his way home and could take me, but I told him it'd be better if he came home to get showered and dressed before going to the hospital, where he would meet up with us.
Checking in wasn't so hard since I registered online before going into triage. When I got checked, physically, the nurse said I was a 6 and a half to 7cm, and said I couldn't go home or she'd get fired. Ha ha ha! Contractions were still at random times but they made me a little uncomfy. The nurse also told me Tehya was sunny-side up (where the back of the head is next to the spine instead of the norm- face to spine). When they tried to get an IV in, the nurse poked me twice, but couldn't do it, even had the anesthesiologist come in, who also poked me twice, finally settling on the vein in my inner elbow. I swear I wasn't THAT dehydrated but whatever they couldn't find a vein. By this time we were in a labor and delivery room and I can't remember when Chris finally came, my mother left, and when my doctor came to check on me. I hadn't dialated much, only to 7cm but Tehya moved into the correct position- face down. The doctor did want to break the water but I said after I got the epidural in, which by the way took 2 times too. Stunk both times but at least he got it in and my doctor was able to break the water, which was clear!
From that point it was pretty much a waiting game of monitors and adjustments Chris and I kept making predictions of when she'd arrive that day. Around 11:30pm they did end up putting me on pitocin to regulate the contractions so they would actually do something. I also had to be given oxygen cuz my blood pressure would go down. Tehya however was enjoying her time inside, kicking away and breathing fine. Then midnight came and went and I told Chris, happy birthday, and things started to pick up. I dialated quickly to 8 and soon 10. I could feel the contractions but I didn't feel the need to push, it was so weird. I'm sure if I didn't have the epidural that wouldn't have been the case. They told me when to push and how long and I listened. It took 3 official pushes to get her out. They put her on my chest and she was cute but a mess. I was able to hold her for about 5 minutes before they took her away to clean her off.
I had guessed 1/3 at 1:03am 7 pounds 15 ounces and 20 inches long. Chris guessed his birthday. Funny huh?

38 Weeks

Okay I know I'll have more info about the pregnancy tomorrow, since I at least have a doc's appointment but this will be a long one anyway. And if you've heard this story of my mishap with Panda Express, you can scroll down to the pix and stuff.
SO.....Friday the 28th of December, my hubby calls me and says, "Hey, I feel like Chinese tonight!" And not really caring what we ate that night I agreed. He got the kids orange chicken with fried rice and got me String Bean Chicken, Mushroom Chicken and Chow Mein (I forgot what Chrispy got but he did eat Chow Mein, I know that). When he was passing out the food, I could smell it, and something inside my head said 'don't eat it' but I ignored it and went on. I didn't finish eating and I didn't eat anything after, cuz after every minute I kept feeling worse. I went to bed around the time the kids did, not helping them into bed at all, hoping sleep will get me over this. At 12:30-ish AM, I got up to go to the bathroom; shaking, cold and nauseous. For five minutes I debate calling Chrispy in to get me a bowl to throw up in then just told myself to shut up and call for him. I called out his name at least 10-15 times before I hit the floor with the heel of my foot. Finally Chris heads upstairs, where I am, and checks on me. I ask for a bowl and desperately keep my throat from exploding. After I got the bowl it didn't take long to throw up a few times. Not even water could help, I threw that up too. I even wet the bed because of throwing up. Throughout the night I kept waking up (more than the usual flip-flopping to get comfy during pregnancy) and woke up tired and scared to try and eat.
I texted my sister, who I knew had food poisoning, and asked what I should do. She told me do hydrate and eat bread or crackers to begin with. I ate one roll and a quarter of an apple and showered for the day I was determined to get through. Cuz that day all the girls in the family were planning to go eat at Olive Garden and go see Les Miserables...which actually turned out to be a surprise baby shower for Tehya and I at Olive Garden. How awesome is that? None of it hit me that it could be something like that, and considering how methodical my mind can be at times it was a GREAT surprise! As much as my stomach bothered me and how little I ate, I loved every moment of that afternoon.
As it turned out, the reason I was so nauseated that day was from lack of sleep, which is what Chrispy predicted. I felt 100% better Sunday morning even though I missed church to get to that point.

Could I look any more bored or desperate to be done with this pregnancy?! Not only that I look so stubby! I'd like to thank my hubby for not warning me about how much of me was in the picture and not telling me to say "Cheese!"
This was taken 12/31/12 a couple hours before throwing up...yet again. Not entirely sure why. Could have been the horrible heartburn I had that night, cuz I didn't throw up after that one time, and I've NEVER suffered heartburn that bad before.
Also could have been Tehya getting even lower, or I ate too much that night, I dunno!
This was taken with my Ipod (Thank you Eric) last night 1/1/13, to see if I could tell if she is lowering. Honestly...I can't tell. I physically feel like she has lowered and that my water could burst any moment, especially when it feels like Tehya is trying to dig out but nothing has happened and knowing my luck I'll have her on a day I don't want to have her. Tomorrow is my nephew's birthday and Friday is Chrispy's birthday. Chrispy thinks it would be cool cuz he is the 3rd child and was a couple weeks early while Tehya is the 3rd child and could be a week and a few days early. I'd just rather everyone have their own birthday. So I vote tonight or after the 4th. And considering the lack if contractions I'm having today I'll go with after the 4th please!
On to the doctor's appointment...assuming I'll make it.

A Very Runkel Christmas

Twas Christmas Morn' at da Runkel House

The presents were piled,
and placed all about.
Even a stocking for Chloe, filled with doggy treats tasting like trout. (Haha!)
Daddy's ornament of the political year,
and Mommy's delivery that will soon be here.
(Caption: Jessica 2012 For thinking you were getting a boy.)
A credit to Christian's hard work and learning,
and Ellie's costume she was desperately yearning.

An Xbox game of Wipeout for Dad,
the gun from Great-Gma Thompson didn't make this boy sad.
A gag gift marshmellow bow made this Daddy smile,
while Christian finally saw his overflowed stocking pile.
 From a jacket like Vader,
 and shows I'll watch later,
 with sword and gun,
 even Chloe had fun.
Nearing the end, she sticks out her end,
for a twin set,
and lip gloss that won't blend.
Captain America, from Santa he asked,
when Daddy got his AK-47 lighter and having a blast.
 I got a watch ring,
 and Daddy a real crossbow,
then we came home from Gma Runkel's with a lot in tow.
Home we went for some lunch and some treats,
using funny straws to drink just couldn't be beat.
Till next year, I say, here's my last rhyme-
I love you all dearly, Goodbye, 'til next time!
