An Important Life Lesson

This was sent to me in an email by my bro-in-law. I thought it was too funny NOT to share.
One day an old German Shepherd stops chasing rabbits because he’s discovered that he's lost that game. Wandering about, he notices a panther heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch.
The old German Shepherd thinks, 'Oh, oh! I'm in deep trouble now!' Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the panther is about to leap, the old German Shepherd exclaims loudly, 'Boy, that was one delicious panther! I wonder, if there are any more around here?'
Hearing this, the young panther halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees. 'Whew!' says the panther, 'That was close! That old German Shepherd nearly had me!'
Meanwhile, a squirrel who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the panther.
So, off he goes.
The squirrel soon catches up with the panther, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the panther. The young panther is furious at being made a fool of and says, 'Here, squirrel, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!'
Now, the old German Shepherd sees the panther coming with the squirrel on his back and thinks, 'What am I going to do now?', but instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old German Shepherd says... 'Where's that squirrel? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another panther!'
Moral of this story... Don't mess with the old dogs... Age and skill will always overcome youth and treachery! BS and brilliance only come with age and experience.

Nayeli Singing

This sadly isn't a video of Nayeli singing. But this is the song she tried to sing this morning while we started "Fern Gully". If she does it again I pray I'll get it on vid. But just imagine an almost 2 year old girl singing in random notes to try and copy this tune. It was hilarious!!!!

Sunday Quote

Yao from the Disney movie "Mulan":
"I'll get that arrow pretty boy. And I'll do it with my shirt on."
Men are so cute when they're modest. Modest is the hottest!

I Was Dedicated!

Known fact that Chrispy and I love to play volleyball together. We have even started to go play volleyball once a month. Yesterday Chris and I had that opportunity. YAY! Only problem was only one other couple came to play. But against the even (4 people make it even not odd, so hence "against the even") we were able to play v-ball with a little group who were awaiting the rest of their party. During that time it was humid with the thick moisture in the air. It reminded me of being in Wisconsin. If it had been thicker we would be inhaling water instead of air. But anyway...I wasn't doing too bad with keeping the ball in-court when I had to/could hit the ball. Chris, of course, was diving and practically throwing his body around to save the ball, collecting a bunch of sand as he hit the ground. I'm not fond of diving, so at one point, when I had to get the ball, the ball was currently out of arms length. And my next train of thought got me this:

See my darkened left toe? Yeah, I kicked the ball with my foot and ironically saved the ball and helped win a point for our team. It was actually a blood blister that popped when I clipped my toenails this morning. Foregive the grossness, I'm just explaining. And please forgive the nasty way my toes look cuz at that point I had not washed my feet of sand. After a little soaking with epsom salt my toe isn't half as sensitive as early this morning.
Another injury I noticed after volleyball (above). I'm not sure how I got this but it too has started to fade. And this morning I discovered what may be from volleyball is a muscle bruise on my right wrist. Normally I'm not this beat up after a night of games but I had to tell ya, cuz last night was fun and I didn't want to shun the fun any by forgetting to tell about my well-earned injuries. :) ISN'T IT AWESOME!!! LOL

Kids

You'd think this child of mine would be more independent when eating when she actually welcomes me to feed her- but she's getting the idea of doing it herself.
Attacking Kaleb!!! So cute!

Freestone Park has a train that can be ridden throughout the park. However they are closed during July and August.
Speaking of independent Ellie....
Playing in the volleyball dirt courts at Freestone.
Soft sand- might even be good enough to build a sand castle.

Dirty play!
At my sister's house he likes to hide while watching a movie. So weird.
Playing together.

Sunday Quote

This is from "Tarzan" the Disney movie when he sneaks up behind his mother, Kala. Kala stops him from scaring her by saying:
Kala: Don't even think about it.
Tarzan: How'd you know it was me?
Kala: I'm your mother, I know everything. Now Where've you been?
Tarzan: I thought you knew everything.
I mostly like the last two lines cuz they're funny and...well, we mother's pretty much say the same thing.

Nayeli and Christian

Now, we still have Christian and Nayeli still take baths together. It saves time and water. Tonight we put the kids in and there are soap bubbles on Christian's behind. Normally it wouldn't matter but Nayeli was watching his behind every time he walked past her in the small tub. I kept watching her and I started to laugh at her watching Christian. After a couple minutes I notice that she wasn't really looking at the suds on his behind but the one freckle he has there. And the next thing I hear is Nayeli say, "Poop," with a disgusted look on her face.
I busted up laughing! And I still laugh at it when I play it in my head- HILARIOUS!!!!

Toy Story 3

No I did not take this pic.
We took Christian to see Toy Story 3 yesterday! Thankfully my sister and her husband were gracious enough to watch our "very riotous" daughter while we took Christan. Ironically enough before he went it seemed like he wanted to go anywhere but to see that movie. LOL However after we sat down and watched the previews and the movie in the VERY 1st ROW I think Christian enjoyed it. He sat through it the whole time like a good boy and didn't scream or yell even in the scary parts.
Yes I said scary parts like when they show a red-eyed monkey (that scared me *shudders*) and at the dump. That's all I'm saying.
Otherwise I thought it was funny and I think it might be my favorite out of the Toy Story movies.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

This is the 3rd movie of the Twilight Saga. Eclipse is the 3rd book in the series. Both of which are my favorite. It was AWESOME!!!! In my view. There's action, romance...and for those that like- drama, and I suppose horror. But there is not much blood.
A friend of mine had connections that we could see the movie before the main screening. So instead of going at midnight last Wednesday, we got to see the movie on Tuesday at 7pm! Not only that they were giving away prizes to certain seats that were called out. It was definately my lucky day cuz I got called as one of the winners. At the end of the movie I claimed my prize in front of the Harkins Theatre. It was two passes to Harkins Theatre.
Hey, it may not seem like much but considering I never win ANYTHING! it was my lucky day and I want to see Eclipse with those passes again. I totally plan to take Chrispy but we'll see.

Sunday Quote

Yes I know it's Tuesday. Yes I know I've been slacking...oh well it's done.
The quote that I wanted to give was from Christopher Runkel himself. We were driving home from Freestone Park after the kids played in the volleyball court sand and Christian was upset that we left so soon. Chrispy pointed to other playgrounds that were behind fences (which obviously wouldn't help at all with Christian's attitude but whatever). Then Chrispy said:
"For a country with no borders, we certainly have a lot of fences."
As much as my eyes glaze over or my head shakes from Chris's political standpoint, I thought it was a funny statement.
