Sunday Quote

Today's quotes are from the movie "The Holiday." I like this movie, for the very fact that I could relate to it sometimes and also because they're fun romances. I have this quote because the girls just love to tell how they met their husbands'. So after you read this, it'd be awesome to know your "meet-cute" with your one-and-only.
Arthur: Well this was some "meet-cute."
Iris: Sorry?
Arthur: It's how two characters meet in a movie. Say a man and a woman both need something to sleep in. And they both go to the same men's pajama department."
Iris: Right.
Arthur: And the man says to the salesman, "I just need bottoms." The woman says, "I just need a top." They look at each other, and that's the "meet-cute."
For Christopher and I, we first met at the Red Mountain Institute building I think late 2004. Chris said it was brief, and I don't remember the actual first time we met. LOL How sad, huh? Now it's your turn. I wanna know.

Sunday Quote

Today's quote will actually be a few quotes from one of my favorite movies, "Pride and Prejudice" with Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier.
Elizabeth Bennet: Do you expect me to thank you for this exraordinary offer of marriage? Am I supposed to feel flattered that you have so overcome your aversion to my family that you're ready to marry into it?
Mr. Darcy: Do you expect me to be glad that your family is inferior to mine?
Elizabeth:(Chuckles humorlessly) I suppose that I should congratulate you on winning the battle between your unwilling affection and my unworthiness.
I love the way Robert Z. Leonard directed this movie. There are very funny parts that he added to a rough-started romance. I chose these quotes in paticular because I often choose the funny parts to quote from.
I admire the wit and strength that a person like Elizabeth has and sometimes envy a spirit so strong. If I was in her place I wouldn't know what I would've said.
FYI- as I told my sister this past week, I choose these because they are random and some are there to be thought about. Even the funny stuff needs the spotlight, despite whether or not you've seen or read what I have.

2 New Books

I went to Barnes & Noble this past week to get a couple books that I've heard were just as good as the Twilight series. I have already read "FALLEN" (within 2 days)- which I thought was good, kinda creepy and suspenseful. I guessed a few things right from the beginning but this still brings in a good story. "shiver" I am currently reading and I'm liking it so far. I figure if I'm going to write a book of my own I'd better read some other books, rather then just reading Stephenie Meyer's books all the time.

There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move. Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce—and goes out of his way to make that very clear—she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her. Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.

Every summer Sam spends a few precious months being human, until the cold causes him to shift to a wolf once again. Discover what happens when he meets Grace in this chilling romance.

HOLY LEMON!!!

He was first eating an orange, then (on purpose) we gave him a lemon. LOL

Ellie didn't like them either. LOL

Sunday Quote

Sorry this one is so late but I forgot on Sunday and with posting everything yesterday (including the birthday video that hasn't been posted since it's taking over an hour to load) I just hadn't gotten to it.

Okay! This quote is from one of my family favorites. It's a movie and has been done as a musical.
The Scarlet Pimpernel

As far as I can tell I'm quoting the movie only; since I have not seen the musical. I chose this quote because Percy makes sly remarks to Chauvelin throughout the entire movie. In the end it was one way that Chauvelin could have noticed he was being set up. Irony.

"I'm surprised my dear Chauvelin, that you didn't notice they're real fit in uniforms. But then fashion never was your forte. Was it?"

If you haven't seen this movie, I definitely suggest it; the 1982 version with Jane Seymour, Anthony Andrews and Ian McKellen

Christian B-Party

Yes, this was a Christian party! LOL For my son Christian, we had family members come over including Chrispy's parents from Alaska, a real treat!

I went to Baskin Robbins at 3:30pm on Friday the 12th worried they'd be unable to make an ice cream cake for our son. According to the website they need at least 24 hours to do these cakes. I walk in and wait my turn. A girl who looked familiar to me walked up to me asking what I would like and with almost pleading eyes I tell her that I know that it was short notice but I needed this cake by 1pm the next day. She looks at me and said, "What the hey, I'll do it." Relief and excitement flowed through me. I finished ordering the cake and on the way out of the shop I was hopping with glee. The next day I was able to get it at 12:30pm and it was ready, I wish I had bought her a thankful rose. LOL Thank you Baskin Robbins worker!!!!!

Every cousin plus 2 came to play and hang out. Christian enjoyed it, I think.

FAMILY

And more FAMILY.

Brass Knuckles

Let me explain the significance of "brass knuckles" for a moment. Chris, Lindsey (my sis), Ammon (Lindsey's hubby) and I were playing Imaginiff... a game where you find out what people compare you to, for example: Imaginiff... Jessica were an animal, would she be 1. a grizzly 2. a parrot 3. a wolf 4. a rabbit...etc. Other players would hold up a number saying what they think I would be as an animal.
Well I got this card that said Imaginiff...____ were a hand accessory, he/she would be...1. a glove 2. a ring 3. brass knuckles 4. a bracelet. I got a unanimous- Brass Knuckles. I had no idea before that night.
A couple weeks ago I got a slap on the butt from Chris that kinda hurt and this is what I gave back from surprise. LOL

I think I hit a little too hard, sorry Chrispy.

Cute Weird Kiddos

Here we have Christian sleeping on the floor when that very morning he woke up around 5am.
It's cute when he sleeps but why won't he sleep in his room???

Ellie and Christian running around the island in the kitchen.

Yes, Christian's face is very creepy. I'm aware of this.

Taking a 3-6 month infant dress and turned it into a shirt. Awesome!

Christian wearing Chrispy's UPS jacket.

I think Christian really likes this sleeper, cuz he yells at us to keep it on when we've changed his diaper.

Chrispy Humor

We were watching The Little Mermaid this evening (Christian's choice, believe it or not) and we come near to the end of the movie. Ya know, where the sea witch gets impaled by the mast of a ship Eric steered. Chrispy was talking to Christian about the movie and quoted the movie The Man Who Knew Too Little -"Hey matey, you stabbed me with your pen."
Then Chrispy steps it up as the sea witch dies and said, "Hey matey, you stabbed me with your boat." LOL I thought it was hilarious. It was perfect timing plus the whole "matey" thing with the "boat" made it fit so well. LOL Oh Chrispy, you make me laugh with some of the silliest comments you make.

Sunday Quote

This quote is from Whip It. Not the best movie but it certainly isn't the worst either. I chose this quote because sometimes we don't get along with our family members but we still love them anyway and vice versa. Frankly this is a really good unspoken truth.
"First of all, you're lucky to have a mom that even cares. And just because she's wrong about derby, doesn't mean she's wrong about every single thing. And if Riley ever lies to me the way you lied to your parents, he wouldn't even be able to run away 'cause I'd break his legs."
I didn't have to add the last sentence but I did cuz I'm sure all us mothers would say that (even though even didn't mean it).

3 Years Old

Yesterday Christian turned 3 years old.....HOLY RAVIOLI!!!
And to start that day off Christian got up at least 3 hours earlier than usual. Sadly Chris thought it was a good idea to go get him. Thankfully Chris has the whole week off but still. And to fully bring in his birthday Christian has acted like a clingy jerk to both Chris and me. Fun stuff *dripping sarcasm*. We didn't celebrate much of his birthday since we plan to do that later. But we did get a free dozen donuts which he really enjoyed.
So HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTIAN!!!
