Today's quote will actually be a few quotes from one of my favorite movies, "Pride and Prejudice" with Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier.
Elizabeth Bennet: Do you expect me to thank you for this exraordinary offer of marriage? Am I supposed to feel flattered that you have so overcome your aversion to my family that you're ready to marry into it?
Mr. Darcy: Do you expect me to be glad that your family is inferior to mine?
Elizabeth:(Chuckles humorlessly) I suppose that I should congratulate you on winning the battle between your unwilling affection and my unworthiness.
I love the way Robert Z. Leonard directed this movie. There are very funny parts that he added to a rough-started romance. I chose these quotes in paticular because I often choose the funny parts to quote from.
I admire the wit and strength that a person like Elizabeth has and sometimes envy a spirit so strong. If I was in her place I wouldn't know what I would've said.
FYI- as I told my sister this past week, I choose these because they are random and some are there to be thought about. Even the funny stuff needs the spotlight, despite whether or not you've seen or read what I have.

I love that whole scene and interplay between them. I agree ... superbly written and directed. The similar scene in the new P&P (with Keira Knightley) is almost as good ... but not quite.
