Eating Too Much

Ironically this post is not about me. It's about Nayeli.
Last night we went to my parents' house to celebrate my Mother's birthday. Now usually Ellie takes a nap during the day sometime like around 11 or noon. She didn't get that nap yesterday (she's chewed through her last pacifier and I'm not buying anymore until the next child). So since she was tired and irritable we decided to give her food. Everything stayed down even the bites of cake she had. We gave her a bath when we got home and noticed that her tummy was really big, but we thought nothing of it.
Lo and behold this morning, we wake to her crying first, and Chris goes in then comes out and says, "Ellie threw up, in the bed."
You'd think- she threw up a little, you know, spit up. No, it was A LOT!!! And her room reaked all day, even after spraying Lysol three times, scrubbing the floor and the crib, washing the blankets (I threw the sheet away, it was just too much). Finally this evening I was able to grab my parents' carpet shampoo-er and it seemed to help a lot. Thanks Kelli, Chris, Mom and Dad!!!

I concur... EW!! Now aren't you SOO glad you're not pregnant again? You really should get that girl checked for acid reflux or something like that... she throws up more than ammon!

Mia did that once after macaroni and cheese. I was tempted to never give it to her again, but she's been okay since.

We've learned with Mia to not give her as much food as she'll eat. Doctors and "experts" will tell you to feed a child until they stop eating. They'll stop when they're full. I don't know about other kids, but we have to stop Mia when we feel she's had too much (the rock-hard tummy is a good indicator) ... otherwise, she does the same thing Ellie did.

I've been there, Jess!
