The Flu & Thankfulness

This last Saturday night I was finally hit with the flu going through my side of the family. I hurled from about 10pm to 11am the Sunday morning. Nothing stayed down, not even water. Topher and I agreed that we've never been or seen anyone hurl so much. Not to mention this was the flu that acted as x-lax too, if you know what I mean. In fact it was so bad my water level was REALLY low. I had instant throbbing headaches every time I sat up/stood up on Monday, for me it meant severe dehydration.
But even though it was a crappy situation and it stunk (ha ha), I came out of it soon enough being thankful for more than just my returning appetite.
I'm thankful to be able to hold, kiss, hug, snuggle, love my kids and my hubby. I'm thankful for no accidents throughout the throwing up time. I'm thankful for plumbing. BOY am I thankful for that! I'm thankful that my body only suffered so little compared to how Christ suffered, or Joseph Smith Jr, or anyone in the holocaust under Hitler's rule.
I'm thankful for a husband that has stayed by my side for these upcoming five years. I'm thankful for a family that cares about me, supports me and helps me out. I'm thankful for all the in-laws (Topher's parents, Topher's siblings, brothers' wives, sisters' husbands) they are truely blessings in my life. And though I'm probably no where near to done I think I'll stop there.
But I do want to end with the fact that this year I hope to start a new...better...me. Not so lazy, not depressed, not distant. The more me that should be ME!
Love you all!

I was able to kick my diet coke habit because of that flu, so I agree with you. I am ironically thankful for it!
