I have finally hunkered down a bit and started reading the Harrry Potter books. Mind you, it was an invitation from a friend, who is going to have a Harry Potter party in a month or so, to get me to read them but hey gotta have motivation for some things.
I have just finished the 4th book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and I think the reason for the lack of motivation to read the books before was because I wanted to know what was going to happen at the end and with the films being so available to watch I just got bored somehow with reading the books. Now I'm totally cool with reading them like I've not seen the movies but heard of the hype. Even though reading all these books are becoming a little monotonous cuz I'm reading the same author over and over I still want to know the details that the movies have not been able to show or the differences between book and movie.
I'd say the first two movies were the most accurate so far where the books were concerned, although I don't think they played Lockhart obnoxiously enough (almost as bad as Umbridge). The third movie almost seemed backward to me in some areas. The fourth movie to the book seems fairly accurate in relation to how they had to fit everything.
In all, I think I like all the books. So far the fourth seemed a little long but I appreciate the other details nonetheless. I understand things a lot better than I did before, not knowing how niave I was watching the movies and accepted not knowing till now, and have currently pointed out some of these details for Chrispy, in turn.
On to the 5th book!
