Everyone knows I'm a Twilight Series Fan. Also known is my longing to write like the author, Stephenie Meyer.
She wrote a sci-fi book called The Host. In a summary not to give much away- A girl of the age 20-21, Melanie, was caught by aliens, who call themselves "souls". This young lady's body is host to a certain "soul" named Wanderer. Upon invading Melanie's body, Wanderer is faced with Melanie not relinquishing her mind to the alien. But when Wanderer probes the thoughts of this young lady she finds herself falling for the man Melanie loves. So both Melanie and Wanderer go on a dangerous journey to search for Melanie's love.
I have to admit, it's kind of hard to start but (I'll quote Sassy who prompted me to read this book) "once you think you can't handle reading any more, because you think it's boring, it starts to get good." And we mean good.
There's the sci-fi, and then there's also romance, mystery, and a little action/adventure.
On the back of the book it has an author that says it's a comination of Stephen King and Isaac Asimov. I don't know if that's true but maybe that'll help describe it to someone else. At any rate I think The Host is an awesome book to read.

There's one that's kind of like that the I like by Dean Koontz (I know some/most/all of his books are just outright weird, but this one's okay), it's called "Lightning."
It's basically about a man from 1940s Germany. The Nazis have discovered a time travel device and have been using it to go to the future and help them bring back technology and stuff to help them win the war. This particular man (one of the main characters) ends up falling in love with a woman in the future, and, having ethical concerns with what his country is doing anyway, does everything he can to keep the woman that he loves from getting hurt and to stop the Nazis from getting the technology they want.
It's got the sci fi, romance, suspense, etc that sounds like the Host book you mentioned above.
If only I had more time!
Keep the good book recommendations coming! I'm always looking for a good, clean book. Glad you have been finding some lately.
