Wisconsin Day 2

Sunday August 2nd we took the kids and joined Chris's father's relatives at the Black River for canoeing. This was my 1st picture on the river. Bald Eagle.
I didn't get to meet half of them before we left on the river. We had 5 boats I believe in our group.
Chris and I wore our "Mormon and lovin' it" shirt since it was Sunday. I kinda felt stupid for wearing it after a while though, like I was rebelling. Anyway, we think Christian enjoyed the trip cuz he liked playing in the sand whenever we stopped.
Jackie (Chris's mother) is in the back, I'm unsure of the other 2 ladies (related to Dan, Chris's father) names. Nayeli is in the center with the girl. I have to say keeping Nayeli in a life jacket was a challenge. Poor baby girl it looked like it choked her. Besides the life jacket though, she did sleep within the 5-6 hours in the boats. Very well done.
These men were out in the river leading this big male horse up river. Loving horses I couldn't pass up the chance to take pictures this is the closest one. Unfortunately they didn't stay to talk so we could only see the beautiful horses from a distance.
The band of Runkels.

Unfortunately I wanted to prove I went canoeing so forgive my overweightness. Thankfully this is the only shot of me through the whole trip. :) I know Liz, you really want to slap my hand. LOL
Ellie slept some more on the trip home, she got sunburnt near her eyes but it didn't seem to bother her too much. Sadly I got sunburnt on my entire face, spots on my arms, shins, and left side of my neck. Ellie was my main priority while putting sunscreen on.
Chris was unscathed (duh), and Christian got a little sunburnt on the small of his back and cheeks and nose. But the weren't as bad as mine, so I'm thankful for that.

That sounds like so much fun ... I've never been canoeing.

I can understand about Ellie and the life jacket. We had them in Mia's swimming lessons and she DID NOT like it!
