Pregnancy/Labor/Delivery Survey -Christian Traygon


Did you plan on becoming pregnant?
Yes and no - we kinda left it to God

Do you know the exact date of conception?
May 13th would be our guess

How long did it take you to realize you were pregnant?
I kinda didn't it was before I was suppose to have my period, we just joked about taking the test on Memorial Day 2006 and low and behold the stick said "yeah ya are prego". But it didn't sink in till late in the pregnancy.

What were your first reactions to finding out?
"Uh...wow...uh Chris?!?!" I called out to Chris cuz he was working outside and then I said something to the effect of "We're pregnant." And he was shockingly excited inside but he just said casually "Wow."

PART TWO: PREGNANCY!

How much weight did you gain?
20-30 My bad

What food did you crave the most?
Chocolate and fruit (not at the same time) but I really didn't have cravings though to be honest.

Did you find out the gender?
Yep a boy

Did you have a 'feeling' about which gender the baby was?
Oh yeah, totally knew that we were having a boy. There were three boys born first in both mine and Chris's family. It was a given.

PART THREE: LABOR!

Did you go into labor before or after your due date?
No but I wished I had before the due date...at the time. But we got to the hospital and I was 4 centimeters and having contractions not even knowing it.

Where were you when (and if) your water broke?
They broke it in the hospital.

How long did your labor last?
I was in labor before I was induced so I have no idea but we were at the hospital at 5am and he was delivered at 3:23pm. So more than 10 hours I guess.

Who, if anyone, was in the room with you?
During labor it was Chris, my mom, a few family members came during labor but then left, nurses and sometimes doctors

How would you describe your 'Labor Pains'?
Well I would describe them as my tummy tightening then loosening and tightening again. It wasn't all that painful....to me, more of annoying.

Did you get angry and curse at anyone?
Nope.

Did you get an epidural or any other pain meds?
Epidural, that's all for pain.

PART FOUR: DELIVERY!

Did you have a c-section or a vaginal delivery?
vaginal

How long did you push for?
3-5 minutes 3 contractions 9 pushes that's all.

Did you get to hold the baby right after delivery?
No, but I didn't want him until he was cleaned off.

Did you have any complications?
A few. First it was the Group B Strep but that's easily treated. Then we found out he pooped in his sac, then they had to give me oxygen. But all went well.
